We often thank God for sending a particular person into our life. God blessed us through that person. It is easy to see God’s action in those He sends into our life in response to our prayer. It is more difficult to be the person who God sends in response to someone else’s prayer. This requires, instead of a prayer petition to God, listening to God and acting on what we hear. Listening is more difficult, it requires a peaceful heart, a heart free of distractions of the world and centered on God. Listening to God speak is difficult, God speaks softly to the heart in a soft whisper. Self must be poured out and emptied and replaced with Christ. To be a servant of God, to imitate the Son of whom He is well pleased, is to hear God and act on what He requests.

I can confirm that this is true. Adoration is the best time to listen to the Lord speaking to our hearts. Thank you.
“It is more difficult to be the person who God sends in response to someone else’s prayer.” No kidding!!! It places a huge obligation on us to retreat into Christ so we don’t give someone sinful advice or support for sin. Absent God’s grace, it’s a really scary place to be.
I agree! Yes, it can be scary. As you rightly note, it requires retreating into Christ. We can find comfort in his promise to send the Holy Spirit to guide us, and when needed provide us with the words to say. Christ will continue to guide and protect those you retreat to Him in prayer. We need to continually pray to be emptied of self and filled with Christ.
To reach out to other’s as the Lord leads us takes great courage, it is a risk and a gift of self. We can only do it through allowing Christ to love through us. Thanks for the reminder to be attentive to the whisperings of the Holy Spirit.
Well said, thank you.
It would take a life time to become the person God intends me to be. I keep on praying to open my ears, Lord. Sharing my facebook.
All are called to persevere and be faithful. I prayer for these constantly.
